Ngaruawahia is located near SH1, 105km south of Auckland and 20km northwest of Hamilton, New Zealand. Before SH1 by-passed the town a few years ago, it's once a busy town for tourists to stretch their legs and admire Maori culture around the town. Now it's a quiet town. The town was once considered as a potential capital of New Zealand and is regarded as the Maoridom capital. Queen Elizabeth II has visited Ngaruawahia on two occasions in 1953 & 1974.

Waihi is located on SH2, 140km southeast of Auckland, New Zealand. It is once a town of〝The Heart of Gold in New Zealand〞. The township grew since the discovery of gold in 1878 and was one of the great gold mining districts of the world. By 1952, when the mighty Martha Mine closed, around 174 tons of gold and 1,193 tons of silver had been produced. Combined with the nearby resort town of Waihi Beach, now Waihi has become a tourist town.
